Program

Beginner program

Study based on the link between fundamental anatomy, sonoanatomy, and practice of peripheral RA. Numerous images of cadaver dissection and sonoanatomy videos. Daily practice of RA under ultrasound injection and/or catheter placement. Duration: 2 or 3 days.

Practical aspects

Training takes place at the Sainte Marguerite Hospital, 270 Blvd de Sainte Marguerite, 13009 Marseille; orthopedic surgery block of Pr ARGENSON, ground floor, pavillion 7. Marseille is accessible by air via the Aéroport International de Marseille, transfer to la gare Saint Charles railway station by shuttle. Lodging facilities near la gare Saint Charles: Ibis Hotel Saint Charles, Inn Express Saint Charles, Residhome Marseille Saint Charles, New Hotel Saint Charles. Metro transfer of la gare Saint Charles is the station Gare Saint Charles, ligne Rouge, Metro M2 in the direction of Sainte Marguerite Dromel terminus. The first metro of the day is at 4h57, with trains every 8 minutes after. There are 6 stops before the terminus for a trip time of 15 minutes to destination. The anesthetist responsible, Dr. David DELAHAYE, will meet attendees at the Saint Marguerite Dromel exit at 6:30 in order to reach the operating room by 7:00. Our day is an intense morning, then a lunch break on the premises, then the afternoon until 17:00 in the operating block interspersed with dummies and training phantoms. Theoretical presentation on fundamental anatomy and sonoanatomy. Specialization according to level... Beginner: ultrasound tracking on mannequin, ultrasound RA practice on training phantoms and then on patients. Axilliary, femoral, and sciatic popliteal blocks. Intermediate: out-of-plane puncture techniques; supraclavicular , infraclavicular, interscalenic and obturator blocks. Advanced: suprascapular block, medullary echocardiography. Other available training: early rehabilitation clinical pathway, ambulatory arthroplasty, blood conservation strategy in anesthesia developed extensively in this department. Anesthetic activity in seismotherapy (3000 procedures per year, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning).

Program details

Orthopedic and traumatologic surgical department of Pr ARGENSON, 30 conventional surgical beds and 5 ambulatory beds. 4000 procedures completed per year. Primary arthroplastic knee and hip surgery, heavy arthroplastic revision of the lower limb. Sports traumatology and ligament surgery. Foot surgery, shoulder surgery (arthroplastic and arthroscopic) of the elbow and the hand. Pseudarthrosis surgery of the lower and upper limbs. (BIS, BSC, BIC, axillary, elbow, wrist, suprascapular block) and the lower limb (femoral, obturator, sciatic, adductor canel, ankle), peripheral nerve catheters placement. TAP block. Ultrasound surveillance and neurostimulation. Medullary esophorectomy. Early rehabilitation in extreme arthroplastic surgery (referral center GRACE), outpatient arthroplasty. Blood conservation strategy.
